Description of this committee

The purpose of the Distribution and Harmonization Committee is to study the techniques currently existing and those under development for distributing audiovisual medias produced with advanced technologies such as 4K/UHD, and to recommend the most appropriate, in addition to harmonization in distribution for different platforms in order to simplify and enhance the efficiency of the distribution processes. These studies include the state-of-the-art used in encoding, in transportation protocols, in physical layer applications, in the transmission standards used for DTV, Cable, DTH, IPTV, OTT, and in the techniques used in reproduction and other players.

The objective is also to study and recommend the most appropriate techniques, so that linear and non-linear supplementary content, customized to the needs of the consumer, can be displayed on different types of screens transparently and free of discontinuities. The scope of the study includes the synchronization between linear and non-linear content, and the gathering and analysis of data for customizing content.
