Strategic Objectives

i. To facilitate the introduction and development of new generations of audio and video services (UHDTV) in Brazil;

ii. To discuss and model a future vision of the audiovisual chain ecosystem in Brazil;

iii.  To become familiar with the needs for adapting content for distribution on different media and the solutions developed/under development to harmonize this distribution;

iv. To encourage objective and subjective tests and evaluations, according to what it is you want to show;

v. To suggest phases for the introduction of new technologies and to recommend their further adaptation to Brazilian reality for offering advanced audio and video systems on different media;

vi. In the specific case of free-to-air TV, to recommend technologies to serve as the basis for establishing practices and standards, also taking into account the issue of the spectrum;

vii.  To demonstrate the advantages of the advances for the population by promoting/supporting public demonstrations. With the help of academia and research and development centers, to update and provide permanent training for the clients of new technologies (other sectors involved) regarding:
a. the technological advances of pictures and sounds ( 4K, 8K, HDR, HFR, WCG, etc.,), their advantages for users and the difficulties to be overcome;
b. the systems developed/under development for distribution/adaptation on different media.

viii.  The UHDTV Brazil Project is coordinated by representatives of Sociedade Brasileira de Engenharia de Televisão (The Brazilian Society for Television Engineering)(SET), Brasil Audiovisual Independente (Brazil Independent Audiovisual) (BRAVI), Associação Brasileira de Emissoras de Rádio e Televisão (Brazilian Association of Radio and Television Stations)(ABERT), Associação Brasileira de Rádio e Televisão Brazilian Radio and Television Association) (ABRATEL), Forum Brasileiro de Televisão Digital Terrestre (Brazilian Terrestrial Digital Television System Forum) (SBTVD Forum), Associação Brasileira de Televisão por Assinatura (Brazilian Subscriber Television Association)(ABTA), Associação Brasileira da Indústria Elétrica e Eletrônica (Brazilian Electrical and Electronic Industry Association) (ABINEE) and Associação Nacional de Fabricantes de Products Eletrônicos (National Association of Electronic Product Manufacturers) (ELETROS).
